No local races this weekend. See y'all on Tuesday at 6 pm for our weekly run. Enjoy this weekend's beautiful weather for a nice run.

Welcome Runners

Come out and join the NMB Running Group! We meet on Tuesday nights at 6 p.m.  We run anywhere from 3-8 miles and everyone can run at their own pace, stay together as a group or break into smaller groups.  We meet at 6 p.m. in the parking lot of the Atlanta Bread Company (in the front of the Wal-Mart Shopping Center) on Highway 17 in NMB. We go around the side of the parking lot and out to 2nd Avenue, down to Ocean Blvd. and north towards Cherry Grove.  We loop back at whatever point we decide depending on how long we decide to run.  We then go to Buffalo Wild Wings for a few drinks, wings and laughs and talk about the run, future runs, races and anything else that comes up.  The more people the better, and would love to have our group grow.  We have a lot of fun and share a lot of good advice and information about running, training and strategies.

Our group has grown tremendously since we started back in October, 2008 and we would love for it to continue to grow.  We have become not just a group of people who meet to run, but a very close "family" and we do a lot more together than just run.

So come on out and join us.  You will not only get some great exercise but we have a lot of fun and share a lot of good advice and information about running, training and strategies.  If you would like to run with us, please call either Rick Lanigan at (843) 855-5576 or Karen D'Alessio at (843) 424-2046 and let us know or just show up ready to run and have fun.  Feel free to call either one of us if you have any questions or need additional information and follow the Comment Wall for information about any changes or other things that we will be doing.

Stay Connected

Our group uses this website to stay connected, talk about upcoming runs, make travel plans for races and give each other advice on training.  Check the Comment Wall regularly if you are planning a run with us.  Feel free to post a comment if you are visiting North Myrtle Beach and would like to run with the group!  We're a very welcoming bunch!

  • Rick  Hey all, hope you had a good run last night I will be back in two weeks see you then.

  • George  Ay! Ay! and ahoy, I will be there, Captain!!!

  • Karen  The Capt. says there is ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE OF RAIN TONIGHT. So he will be there at 6 pm.

  • Karen  It definitely is pretty flat here in MB. We run all summer - we make our Tues night runs at 7 rather than 6 and yes, we run early on the weekends. Cooper River is a great run. I did that one last year and it was a lot of fun. The most popular runs here are the NMB Winter Run (15K) in Jan, Blue Crab 5K in May, Sun Fun Beach Run 5K in June and two different Turkey Trots in November. All the races are really good, but those are the most popular.

  • Ray  I appreciate the invite Karen. It will be interesting to see the difference running will be there in the Grand Strand vs. here in Upstate, NY. For instance I imagine it's flat there as opposed to the hills here. Also what the heck do you do about running in the Summer? Do a lot of people run indoors or real early or real late in the day? Your club like I said, seems very similar to ours which is great! I'm sure runners are the same no matter where you are....full of real positive, motivated people! I tell ya one thing, I can't wait to do the Cooper River Bridge Run! What are the "must runs" in the Grand Strand area?
